A sketch is rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not usually intended
as a finished work. A sketch records something that artist sees, his idea
or principle. In short sketching is the process of roughly scribbling an idea
on paper. In sketching, notice all the body parts are not precisely drawn.
Here fingers, eyes, nose, lips etc are not present. But the form, shape, the
movement of character, etc are visible enough to speak its presence.
It is generally a prescribed part of the studies of art students. It may be
created in any medium, through pencil, ink, charcoal, gel pen, marker pen,
water colour and oil paint etc.
The initial lines are drawn to
get an idea of an artwork on
a given media.
Discuss with children to use
light lines, Apply Shading
and Focus on the Essence.
